I filed a bug <rdar://4097772> which describes a problem where 'fi' will show up as a combined ligature in plain text e-mails and documents.

For example, in TextEdit, set your Format in the prefs to Plain Text.

Make a new document and type in words that begin with 'fi' (e.g. file). Notice that once you type the 'i', it will combine with the 'f'.

Anyone else seeing this?

Also, I am _not_ seeing this issue at all with NSTextFields; seems to be isolated to Mail.app and TextEdit.app.

Hmm, I don't see it.

Strange. This is on 8A428. I may have to do another clean install and see if it's still there. Previously, I did an upgrade install.
