Collapsing the splitview and hiding the button?

Is it possible to hide the grab button in an NSSplitView?

Please don't tell me that this is non-standard Mac. Well do it if you like, but I've tried reasoning with the company I'm doing this for, and they don't seem to want to know about the Mac way of doing things. So one thing leads to another and I'm left having to deal with their non-standard requirements which require me to make controls do things they weren't designed to do.

So, is it possible to hide the grab button in an NSSplitView?
