screen savers

I'd like to build a simple screen saver. I spent some time playing with apple's open gl renderer stuff on tiger (Core Image Fun House), and you can bang out a nice basic one pretty quick.

However, it won't work on Panther, nor can you integrate any of your own code into it. So that's out.

I have found sample GLUT screen savers which are pretty neat, i.e. I can add my custom code to them, but I don't know how to do the effects that I want.

I don't know any OpenGL, nor do I really have time to learn it.

What I'd like to do basically is give the screen saver a picture or several, and use the cube effect to rotate them, while having my other code doing it's thing in the background.

Any advice, source code, or even a simple book, if nothing else?

Ideally, it would be great if Core Image Fun house would kick out an XCode project that you could modify ;) but I guess that's asking a lot...

Thanks in advance.
