No, you don't need to "position" the view, because the toolbar item
will do that for you.
Your tracking rect problems are probably something else. My
suggestion is that you try to get to grips with the use of tracking
rects outside of toolbar items first, and once you got that going,
see if you can get it working in a toolbar item.
