Actions on screensaver activate/deactivate

  • Subject: Actions on screensaver activate/deactivate

I'm trying to write a program that'll do stuff (set away messages, mute sound, etc) when the screensaver activates or deactivates. For activation, I've found the com.apple.screensaver.didstart notification, but com.apple.screensaver.didstop is raised when the authentication dialog appears (if a password is required). This isn't ideal - I'd like my program to only do its thing if the screensaver is well and truly deactivated. Does anyone have any clever ways of doing this, short of checking for the screensaver window or process?
