What's happening with PNG ?

Hi to everybody !
I have a strange problem with the PNG image format. I have a GIF,
that I have converted from indexed colors to RGB under Photoshop.
When I save it to a PNG image, the image looks exactly identical in
Photoshop...but the colors are not the same when I use this image in
my application (using draw... method of NSImage).
To be sure, I opened it in Preview...and the color are the same than
in my app. I open it in photoshop...and the colors are back to the
correct ones !
I know some og you are thinking "Hey, this is probably a problem with
Photoshop" but it isn't : if I save the original (RGB converted) GIF
to a TIFF image, the colors are perfect when I draw the image in my
app and when I look at it in Preview !
There is something strange (I wanted to say "wrong" but maybe that's
normal and I don't know why...yet !) with the way MacOSX Tiger draw
and display PNG pictures. And this strangeness prevents me from using
PNG in my app !
If someone can help me with this, I'd be glad to hear what's wrong !
