searchkit 10.4 and chinese language word boundaries

  • Subject: searchkit 10.4 and chinese language word boundaries

Does anyone know how searchkit is supposed to work with the Chinese language (where their are few spaces, so it's complicated to find word boundaries)? Prior to 10.4 it seemed to handle this problem in some way, ie you could search for some Chinese characters and often they would be found even if they were not surrounded by whitespace.

In 10.4 this doesn't appear to be the case, and I don't see any options to turn this behavior on in the API. This makes it difficult to search Chinese (i'm told, see this post)

Because the only way to find things is to place wild-cards before and after each search term. The "Word Break" option in the Language panel of system preferences looks promising, but on my computer it doesn't seem to change SearchKit's behavior.

So what's the recommended way to search Chinese text?

Thanks,
Jesse
