I reworked the exercise to reflect your comments and added more
explanations. After a few passes to correct typos it works as intended
and I like this version better. The only comment I didn't adhere to
(the generic id type point) I included an explanation of (for my reference).
I'm breaking open the Hillegass book now so I'm sure I'll be busy for
awhile :-) Things are sure a lot different now than the assembler based
engineering modeling software I worked on in the 60s, but I like this
approach. I think of it as an abstraction of the so-called "structured"
approach I got into in the 70's.
I'm satisfied with the exercise now, but if you want to make sure you
were not wasting your time helping me I replaced the previous version
with the new at:

I really appreciate you're having prodded me to go the full mile - no
programmer is an island :-)
