How a QTMovie determines if it can initialize itself from a URL

How the QTMovie class determines if it can initialize itself from a URL using the method +canInitWithURL: ?

I would like to use this as a means for determining how to treat certain urls in my application, but I do not want the process to get bogged down if the url needs to be completely downloaded and interpreted first.

Thanks,
-Phil
