Shouldn't it be %f? -pressure returns a float. I may be wrong but ...

NSLog(@"pressure: %f ", [event pressure]);

... should work for you.

What kind of event is this? Only some mouse events contain pressure information.

Otherwise, a guess: Is this while using a pen or induction-mouse, or is this event perhaps from an attached USB mouse? You're not guaranteed to get pressure information from a regular mouse, AFAIK.
