Trapping Keystrokes

  • Subject: Trapping Keystrokes

We're using the menuHasKeyEquivalent function to trap certain keystrokes to execute commands within an application, but we're having problems.

In particular, the handling of the spacebar is proving to be inconsistent from machine to machine (all running OS X 10.4.2.) On some machines, menuHasKeyEquivalent does not get called when space is hit, on others it does.

Is there a low level way to trap keystrokes before the FirstResponder gets ahold of it?

Thanks!
