NSConnection w/ NSSocketPort problem

I am prototyping a simple application using NSConnection based on
NSSocketPort. The 'client' side of the connection is getting the
following exception ~50% of the time.
2005-12-27 14:33:02.197 client[2816] [NSPortCoder
sendBeforeTime:sendReplyPort:] timed out
I can't find any documentation references to the NSPortCoder
sendBeforeTime:sendReplyPort method.
Any assistance would be appreciated.
