Sorry if this has been covered, but I searched the archives and could find nothing about it. I upgraded to panther recently and installed the xcode. I un-installed it after I had trouble running example code from the book "Learning Cocoa with objective C", and a quick search of the archives showed there was some problems with xcode and project builder co-existing. I also un-installed and re-installed project builder and interface builder. But I still can't get the sample code from the book to compile. I down loaded the sample code from oreilly.com and it still won't compile. With Xcode installed I was getting a message saying that the song2 variable was undeclared, but now I get a linking error.
<x-tad-smaller>Linking /Users/markogilvie/Learning Cocoa/Book examples/Chapter 3/pg 48 objects/build/objects (1 error)
</x-tad-smaller>ld: can't locate file for: -lcrt1.o
Did I miss something in the un-install or is project builder simply not up to running with panther? I have seen messages mentioning problems. I am at mac os 10.3.7 currently.
I've only got a week or so before I go back to work and my free time evaporates and I'd really like to get into this. Should I try a different book (THis one is the second edition) or is it my system?
