Window Movement Animations ???

Hi,
Does anybody know if we have the capability of getting window move and
close/disappear in multiple steps instead of 1 jumps (ie appear disappear),
as I'm trying to do the same effect on what my PC counterpart has done as he
has 1 API to call to make a window appear/disappear from a single point on
the desktop, which does make it nice to look at.

I can guess how to do this, my multiple window api calls, but do we have
something which is better, my initial searches in the frameworks didn't show
anything.

Any ideas
Thanks
Mark.
