forgetting the "self ="

self =  [super initWithContentsOfFile: fileName ofType: docType];

is, of course, the problem... no matter how many times you type the idiom you
can't see it the one time you forget it.


It is, however, still ugly - I don't want to see an "Error ... failed to open." panel
if I just canceled the damn thing myself.
