Selection and proxy objects...

Whenever I bind to an NSArrayController's selection property, I (appropriately) get back a proxy object for the real object. Well, what if I want to get to that real object so I can call it's methods directly (as opposed to valueForKey and friends) - what's the preferred way to do that?
