troublesome NSStepperCell

i made a test project for testing NSStepperCell.
a table with two columns, one column displays number value, the other contains NSStepperCell.
i have things working just fine, values get updated and all.
but it's just that first of all, the NSStepperCell doesn't respond very well to mouse click.
you can do a quick multiple clicks, and it'll respond only once.
and the part that you clicked (up or down arrow) will remain selected (pushed in, with blue color and all) as long as the row is selected.
and if you select a different row, the NSStepperCell at that row becomes the same.
a screen shot:

it's weird, is it supposed to behave like this, or am i missing something?
thanks.
