Hi All,
Apologies if this is the wrong forum to ask this question, but
perhaps some of you knowledgeable guys would know.
I have a driver package built for OSX for our hardware device, both
MIDI and Audio driver kext's, and I would now like to properly
integrate the whole setup and config of the device with Audio/MIDI
Setup.
How does one go about creating the device description files, for
inclusion in our installer package, which will give the device its
own icon and image resources in Audio/MIDI Setup, automatically? We
do not want the user to have to self-select the image for our device;
ideally, when Audio/MIDI Setup does a 'device scan' for the MIDI
interfaces, it will select our custom device images and display them.
I recall reading an Apple technote - perhaps it was from a WWDC
session - about how to go about creating this custom device
description, but for the life of me I cannot find it in my bookmarks,
so I'm turning to the mailing-lists. Perhaps someone has done this
already, or maybe an Apple guy on this list can provide me with an
appropriate reference?
Thanks in advance for any support you can provide .. really looking
forward to having a completed installation package that pushes
forward all the cool features of the CoreAudio user experience.
