I think it's very important that you adapt your answer to the question
being asked. And for the question that started this thread, I don't
think that the the answer should be "sorry mate, it's missing - file a
bug report". It sounds like Cocoa already provides what he's asking
for, in the typical nice Cocoa way, without having to build it all from
bits and pieces - in the Carbon way.
