Does anyone know how to turn off the default black line border of an NSTextView ? I don't see any methods available for this similar to an NSTextField class. ?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

When you drag an NSTextView into a window, the view hierarchy is:

+ NSWindow (window)
  + NSView (content view)
    + NSScrollView (NSTextView)
      + NSTextView

The border is actually an attribute of the NSScrollView. The following should work:

[[theTextView superview] setBorderType:NSNoBorder];
