Ah! I had missed that (I haven't had cause to touch
NSDocumentController much before). I should have done
a search on currentDocument before posting - duh.

Many thanks again for all the help, this makes
creating a dynamic menu for what I want pretty much
straightforward (I knew there would be a simple
solution :) ).
