After fiddling with this for a while, it appears, it really is working,
but the debugger randomly stopped working and wouldn't step into the
doubleAction method I had specified. An error in the method was
yielding no visible action and since the debugger wasn't stopping there
I thought it wasn't working at all. So it is working fine. Sorry for
the noise.
