A-hah! I did my own detective work and research and figured it out.
Thanks anyway though. It was NSUIHearthbeat, something I didn't know
existed, but controls the flashing of the default button. Upon making
the button non-default, the thread went away. Perhaps this will be
interesting information to someone?
