Cocoa Globe/ShapeFile Library?
Cocoa Globe/ShapeFile Library?

Hello all,
I've been searching (and searching and searching and searching) for a
library, framework or just a regular code example to show globe in OS
X. The tricky part is getting it to map ShapeFiles (the mapping format
from ESRI) on a sphere. I know about shapelib that can read ShapeFiles,
but it doesn't help with the projection onto a globe. Our current
(Windows only) product uses TGlobe (a Delphi product from
http://www.tglobe.com) and it handles things brilliantly because it
isn't spending time trying to be a full 3D world simulator like
VirtualGlobe (http://globe.sintef.no) does. I'm leading the push for a
native OS X version of our app and I need to find a Cocoa compatible
ShapeFile library or make one myself, but that might take longer than
the project allows.
Does anyone out there have any advice (other than searching Google for
various combinations of ShapeFile, map, globe, world, library,
framework, cocoa, OS X)?
Cheers,
Craig
