Well ... lack of additional functionality is just that, but not a
bug. It does what it's supposed to do without breaking, so I'd say
you should file an enhancement request. It *would* be nice to have
that kind of control, though. NSSound does seem very bare-bones.
It seems targeted at 'beeps' and other UI feedback things. In this
case, I'd sort of expect it to play back at whatever system volume
the user had set. To do otherwise isn't really keeping the user in
mind in most situations. After all, all you can really do is *lower*
the volume of the sound relative to the system volume. If you do
otherwise, you're really stepping on the user's toes. I'd personally
either remove or empty the sound file in the app's bundle if an app
did that to me. ;-)
NSSound's lack of volume control makes sense to me is what I'm
saying, I guess.
