Would it be worth my time to submit a feature request bug regarding
this?  or is it something Apple is not interested in providing?

...And, just to satisfy my curiosity, how does the 'Color Label:'
stuff in the finder context menu work?  Emulating that would get me
90% to where I want to be I think.
