Thanks Bill
Yes you correct, I exported the sdef's to *.scriptSuite and it fixed
the problem, they are now displaying in Script Editor.
I get the feeling that sdef has a long way to go before I can leave
*.scriptSuites behind.
The work around I will use is to define the Suites in Sdef editor and
export them until native sdef format is working properly.
Thanks again for you help and great advise.
Regards
Steve

except when I open Script Editor to list the Suite dictionary

I have the vaguest recollection of reading somewhere that sdef and the
OSAScriptingDefinition flag don't yet support scriptable plug-ins.
But now I
can't find that reference anywhere, so I'm not sure whether I'm
confusing
this issue with something else.
If this is correct, you would have to generate old-style
*.scriptSuite and
*.scriptTerminology files from the sdef and use the generated files
in your
plug-in.
Perhaps Chris Nebel could bring us up to date on this?
