Charles,
The first book relates to Cocoa and is by Aaron Hillegass. It's
titled "Cocoa Programming For Mac OS X". I think this book will give
you a good feel about what the framework is and to a somewhat lesser
extent, what the framework isn't. The book has a tendency to bring
out a sense of discovery after each chapter, at least it has for me.
I've made heavy use of the Apple documentation with each topic
brought up in the book.
The other book, "Programming in Objective-C" by Stephen G. Kochan, is
a great introduction to the Objective-C language. I've not used the
book as a tutorial but instead use it as a reference.
Like Corbin mentioned, the IB is quite different from the way an
interface is built in Delphi -- different was quite the
understatement when I first encountered it. By the time you finish
the Hillegass's book you'll feel quite comfortable with the IB and
find it's not too bad and sometimes even elegant. That said, perhaps
we'll see some of Corbin's influence in the future....
Have fun!

Hi Bill,
I'm from the Delphi 7 and earlier era. I've not had an opportunity
to use Delphi .NET.
I'm trying to get my head around the Data Binding and Core Data
thing. I must admit I miss the good old TDataSource and
TClientDataset.
I'm still trying to get used to the concept of the nib file, not
being able to just look at the code for the windows & views is a
bit annoying. I'm sure I'll get used to it, but right now it just
frustrating. And the different terminology is killing me. ;)
At any rate, thanks in advance for the book recommendations.
Charles

Charles,
I'm in the same situation as you. When I get home I'll send you the
titles of two books which I've found quite useful. I've been writing
small database utility applications to learn the framework.
Are you coming from Delphi .NET versions or version 7 and earlier?

Hello All,
I'm a former Delphi developer, transitioning to Cocoa. Has anyone
come across any articles geared toward folks moving from Delphi to
Cocoa?
Thanks,
Charles
