Is there some way to hide a control on MacOS10.2?

On 10.2, you'll need to retain the view in question, and then remove
it from the view hierarchy. This is somewhat tedious, and it
introduces resizing issues, which is we got -setHidden: added to the
kit.
What I used to do on Jaguar and earlier, was replace the view I
wanted to hide with a stand-in that didn't draw anything, and had the
same resizing attributes as the hidden view.
