Menu item shortcuts without modifier key

  • Subject: Menu item shortcuts without modifier key

I'm trying to make shortcuts for my menu items that do not require a modifier key. In IB I unchecked all the modifier checkboxes, but the shortcuts do not work when I do that. (They work fine if I change them to be "command-whatever" but that's not what I want.

Should this work? Or do I need to do some magic with First Responders to capture non-modified keypresses? The window contains a QTMovieView; could it be intercepting the keypresses?
