We're not doing anything special with drawing optimization.  The gif is in
an NSImageView set up in a view in a nib to animate.  The OS handles its
animation.  Scaling is off, as required.

There is a toolbar in the window.  The view containing the NSImageView and
such is added to the window at runtime.

I am attaching an image to show what the problem looks like.  Hopefully,
this list won't strip the attachment away.

As I mentioned before, this problem doesn't appear before Tiger.
