I noticed that our application's Font menu keeps some of standard
items enabled when they shouldn't be, whilst other items are
correctly disabled.
E.g When I have no document windows open, Bold and Italic are
enabled, but Underline and the various Kerning/Ligature options are
correctly disabled. There are also times when it makes no sense for
an open document to have these enabled. I tried disabling them in -
[myDocument validateMenuItem:] but these items never come through to me.
I have also noticed that TextEdit exhibits the same problem when it
has no windows open, so I am assuming that this is a bug (in 10.4)
Is it really a bug, or some obscure intended behaviour?
How can I correctly disable them when needed?
