Hi,
I am just trying to write such a protection for my software.
I would like to write an hidden file which contains a flag which says that
the application is registered and can run on that machine.

Actually I do that within a given sub-directory of the "Home" folder.
But this way, if a different user log-in on the same machine, he finds the
software unregistered. Or at least my software can read from that other
user's hidden file and says that it is registered, but in this case I cannot
unregister the copy because that hidden file is write protected.

So I though the only way is to create a file outside the Home folder.
To do that I guess I need special permissions.
How to do?

Best Regards
