DnD Core Data objects?

I did the quick-and-dirty drag-and-drop project on mmalc's site and pretty much "get" DnD now. After toying with Core Data, though, I'm wondering if there's a quick way to copy an object between managed object contexts so I can drag, say, a list item that represented a CD entity between documents?
It doesn't seem to support encoding and all I can guess is that I have to manually crawl it and its relationships and make an intermediate object but before I run down that lane I just wanted to check.
