OK, that's good to know. However, when I do:
NSURL *temp = [NSURL fileURLWithPath:[@"~/Desktop/Songs.xml"
stringByExpandingTildeInPath]];
if ([myDictionary writeToURL:temp atomically:YES] == YES) {
NSLog(@"worked");
} else {
NSLog(@"failed");
}
it always outputs "failed".
Any other ideas?
Only brute force to narrow down the problem. Make sure it works
with an empty dictionary. Try writing to a dictionary. Try
removing half the dictionary entries. Try removing all but one of
the dictionary entries. Try to find a dictionary that works and a
slightly different dictionary that doesn't work, and study the
difference between the two.
Is it possible the dictionary or one of its subobjects contains
something that the -writeTo methods don't like, i.e., something
that is not an NSData, NSDate, NSNumber, NSString, NSArray, or
NSDictionary?
Well, the dictionary I'm pulling all this information from is the
iTunes Music Library.xml file, which contains nothing but strings,
integers, and dates.
Perhaps there's another way to tackle this problem. All I need to do
is inspect the structure of my dictionary. From what I've seen in
the debugger, there's no clear way to get a list of all the key/value
pairs of a dictionary (or array, for that matter) while debugging.
Is there? That would be preferred.
Thanks!
Dave
