Well, I tried calling tableViewSelectionDidChange just before calling runModal..., and it worked.


You haven't explained why you absolutely must receive a
tableViewSelectionDidChange: call. Can't you set the value of that
textfield or do whatever else it is you need doing for the initial
state before running the window as modal?
