You can't make the autorelease pool release early, but you can create
more autorelease pools.  See NSAutoreleasePool.

Also, I like to just comment out the parts of the code I think are
faulty and then put back a couple lines at a time.

Yeah I know of that. I was kind of hoping to avoid that. :) Although I'm open to being told that there really isn't any other way than sleuthing the answer.
