I agree. This totally drives me crazy. I'm writing something in
Mail, and Safari pops up and ruins my write. or I'm writing

I think there's even a security concern. If I'm in the middle of
typing a password, I *really* don't want another window stealing
focus, because some of my password characters might get displayed in
that window.
