I agree. This totally drives me crazy. I'm writing something in Mail, and Safari pops up and ruins my write. or I'm writing something in Safari, and Mail pops up and ruins my write.

I think there's even a security concern. If I'm in the middle of typing a password, I *really* don't want another window stealing focus, because some of my password characters might get displayed in that window.
