Well yes, C++ or even .NOT seems to be gaining prevalence in the city.
My C++ is actually pretty good, but the fact that I haven't done any
solid work with it for 18 months or so seems to be putting employers
off (*sigh*)
That's definitely the case. When I was wrapping up my degree, I took a
bespoke NeXT app for the Uni and ported it to C++/wxWindows[*] on
Solaris which gave me something to put on the joblog^WCV. Since then
the need (and desire) to bring it back to Cocoa has become apparent...
:-)
[*]as was then, so no grousing :-P
So, I'm curious - how many of you are actually using Cocoa in your
job, in the UK?
Only because I work in H.E. and get a choice. That's pretty much as
easy as it gets to land a Cocoa job here - be in a position to both
choose the computers and write the software. Certainly I've not seen
any agency or in-house type jobs that have a tickbox for Cocoa
development.
Do we actually have any Mac-based software houses over here?
I know of a couple of WebObjects companies which might act as leads,
but as this is neither a WO forum nor a classifieds page it's probably
better to take this off-list :-).
Cheers,
Graham.
