Indeed, but this is how it is in Cocoa. It was a design decision made by software engineers. It is a design that is quite well proven, stable, usable, and in wide use. My point is that this probably isn't the best (or most sympathetic) forum for this debate. In *Cocoa*, a table view is a table view and an outline view is an outline view.


Honestly, I'm not trying to be a jerk - it's just that this topic is starting to turn into a heated argument over something that's quite off-topic.
