Or, if your needs are fairly simple, cron would probably do the trick.

Mich,

Your question is almost too broad for this forum. People here like to respond to particular questions, when they can (e.g. I am thinking about using x or y for my project that does z. I have encountered this particular problem about x which I saw mentioned in the forums, but no one offered any solution. Does anyone know why x has this behavior?) That said, look into Foundation Tool and the other tools with which you can create background processes, i.e. with no application menu. Hillegass's "Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X" has a chapter on creating a Foundation Tool. Also, look into system startup items, login items, etc.

Hi,

I'm exploring the world of cocoa programming.
I'm wondering if anyone can give me an
idea/suggestions on how to implement an application
that will show up after 5 days.
The behavior of the app is something like "Show me
again after 5 days".

Thanks.
Mich
