MREGS Leaking

  • Subject: MREGS Leaking

Hello.

I have run into an interesting problem. In my current program the MREGS reported by top show a leak. However, RSIZE and the other indicators in top do not show a leak. ObjectAlloc and MallocDebug also do not show leaks. (Yes this is a cocoa program.)

How in the world did I manage to leak in the memory registry (I think thats what MREGS stands for) yet not leak any actual memory in my app? Any idea how to track this down?

BTW, the reason I'm trying to fix this is that eventually the kernel will lock up on machines with low memory.

If there is another forum that would be more appropriate for this please let me know.
