NSURLConnection not working beyond firewall

Hi,
I download a file using NSURLConnection. It works well, but on some machine
beyond the firewall, it doesn't work. I call simply a link like
http://www.mySite.com/myDoc.sit?123
so I presume it should work all the time.
Do I need to open some port on that machine? What?
