Download a file

Hi,
I download a file using NSURLConnection. It works well, but on some machine
beyond the firewall, it doesn't work. I call simply a link like
    http://www.mySite.com/myDoc.sit?123
so I presume it should work all the time.
Do I need to open some port on that machine? If so, which one?
Or should I use WebKit?

Also, I found NSURLConnection is the only way to get the modification date
of the remote file and decide whether download it or not. Is another way to
get the modification date of the remote file to download?

Best Regards
