800x600 is what you're fishing for.
1024x768 is usually the next bigger size, which everyone except
people with clamshell iBooks, older iMacs and such seems to have
these days. But yeah, if your app isn't a high-performance beast and
still runs fine on 300MHz machines, you'll definitely want to support
800x600.
480x640 is nonsense. I don't think a screen of that size ever
shipped for Macs. There were 640x480, but OS X will complain to you
if you switch to that size. It will let you run anyway, but it'll
complain. So, unless you're doing a game, that size really shouldn't
be on your list anymore, after all OS X 10.0 already dropped official
support for it.
PS - This is reflective of my target audience, yours may be
different. Do your own research :-p
