Why would I not be able to load the NIB file?

When I run my little GUI utility I get the following output:

MainMenu, exiting
Executable “WinDDKIoctlCalc” has exited with status 1.

Any pointers as to where I should be looking in Xcode to understand
what's wrong with either the project file or the nib file? I can load
the nib just fine in IB by simply clicking on it in Xcode. When I
inspect the different UI elements and their connections, it all looks
good. I really am not sure what's going on and I need the help of
someone who knows something about the internals of nibs and how they
are loaded.
