This can easily be done with AppleScript. Open the AppleScript
dictionary for iTunes to see what you can do.

Does anyone have a code snip, advice, url, or anything that would help
me out with this task?
My UI spec calls for a list of playlists to be populated in a dropdown
list, and the tracks for the selected playlist to be dislayed in a
tableview.
