Hi there,
I'm looking for possibilities to stream audio from one PC to another. I
could go the hard way, CaptureToAudioCodec and TYP/UDP, but I want to
try to use the QT streaming server, too.
I found this Java QTS example:
http://www.onjava.com/pub/a/onjava/2005/01/12/strmng_qtj.html
but I was unable to find something similar for Carbon or Cocoa.
Anyone around who has a link to an simple example program?
I found "usher" but it's quite complex and as it's written completely
in Carbon not really easy to understand for someone who got his Mac and
Xcode three weeks ago.
Also it would be nice if someone could state his opinion:
I need to grab audio, encode it (small), send it to a server, decode
it, mix it with other incoming channels, and send it out again. Yes,
call it a multi-point voice chat, I know I'm asking for a lot of things
here. What would you experienced MacOS coders say is the best
alternative:
1. using QTS/QT
2. using QT for decoding/encoding and implementing the streaming over
TCP or UDP
3. check for 3rd party libs like openh323
best regards & thanks in advance,
Lars
