Hi Lorenzo,
You'll find a series of articles here about the business side of
the shareware world. The site focuses on game development and articles
reflect that a little but they're worth reading anyway.

From a programming perspective if you've got a good idea that is
within the scope of a one-man-shop you'll do fine if you can find the
discipline to work on it consistently. There are a few really great
resources available to help with Cocoa projects and this list is one
of the best. You can almost always overcome technical hurdles, if you
can describe them properly, with the help you'll find in the
community.
The trick about shareware seems to be to remember it's a business.
Unlike an OpenSource project where you're scratching your own itch
you're trying to address someone elses itch. It becomes vital they
know about your product if it's ever going to help them. Marketting,
PR, support and customer service, all become as important as the
actual coding. Project planning, deadlines and design docs will also
help you maximize the effectiveness of the time you put into your
project.
Good luck,
Guy
