NSRulerView customization questions

  • Subject: NSRulerView customization questions

I was looking at the Ruler example code, and wondered is there is any way of changing the NSRulerView behavior, or do I have to write a completely custom class to do:

I noticed that when you zoom in, the ruler view adds more tick marks; however,
(1) If you zoom in a lot, (say showing the 1/64" tick marks), the tick marks are all the same size (no hash marks visible), and you have no idea where you are in the ruler (the only marker text, 1", could be a long scroll away)

Is there anyway to customize this behavior--(a) change how often hash marks are shown and (b) where text labels are drawn? Is it also possible to change WHAT text is drawn? It would be nice to show 1" or 1', not just "1".

Thanks,

Mark
